Welding cartridges 3MTM SpeedglasTM continuously protect welders from the harmful effects of ultraviolet and infrared radiation. This protection remains effective at all times, on and off, darkened and non-darkened. In its undarkened state, the cartridge transmits the green component of the spectrum most. Hence the "green" glass in the welding cartridge.
