Protective Coverall Ansell AlphaTec 2500 (formerly Microgard® 2500)
Type 3B, 4B, 5B lightweight Coverall with taped seams with the highest classification for protection against biological, infectious agents, blood and blood-borne pathogens including viruses. Designed to meet the needs of research working with all forms of biological agents (including resistance to agents for their destruction) or emergency medical interventions. Due to its properties and resistance to liquids, it is also perfectly suited for the chemical, pharmaceutical and nuclear industries, pickling and painting plants or pressure cleaning.
- The fabric achieves the highest classifications for protection against biological agents (penetration of blood, body fluids and blood-borne pathogens) in accordance with EN 14126 and ASTM F 1671
- Type 3-B (impermeable to liquids)
- Air and water vapour permeable (breathable) material to reduce the risk of heat stress
- Very low level of fibre shedding to reduce the risk of cross-contamination in critical environments
- Antistatic design, tested according to EN 1149-5
- Stitched and taped seams provide greater strength and an effective barrier against liquids and particles

Microgard® 2500 Plus uses one of the highest quality thin micro-porous layers available for limited life workwear. Most microporous coveralls use thin layers that only stretch in one direction. The Microgard® 2500 Plus layer has the unique property of stretching in both longitudinal and transverse directions during production. The result is high tensile strength and elongation in both directions, resulting in a more durable and harder wearing garment.
Properties
- The outer layer of the fabric, consisting of a microporous sponge-like structure, prevents the passage of water molecules, but allows the passage of vapor molecules from the inside out, so the wearer stays fresh and cool.
- It has excellent water repellency and protection against less hazardous liquid and dust chemicals.
- The Microgard® 2500 Plus coveralls are made of composite material and provide strong resistance to tears and punctures.
- High strength, flexibility and stretch ensure comfort and durability.
- Extremely strong, unyielding, durable and hard-wearing materials.
- Approved according to EN 1149-1 as antistatic clothing.
- They come in white.
