Protective Coverall Ansell AlphaTec® 5000 (formerly Microgard® Microchem 5000)

The precision top-class chemical protective Coverall achieves a new level of chemical protection in extremely hazardous environments. It offers its users exceptional comfort, a high degree of protection and, above all, effective protection against a wide range of different chemicals. Protection against penetration of radioactive particles, infectious agents, viruses, bacteria and blood-borne pathogens. It is made of a special five-layer composite material with a polypropylene core, which gives the Coverall unique properties - excellent wearing comfort and extremely high durability at low weight. Ultrasonically welded seams, double sealed zipper flaps for ultimate protection. Resistance to chemical warfare agents. Bold orange colour for excellent visibility. Antistatic treatment for use in hazardous areas.

Level of protection

The Ansell AlphaTec® 5000 coverall is suitable for protection against hazardous liquid chemicals and has been
tested according to CE Type 3 [pressure spray] and Type 4 [spray saturation].

Properties

• The unique five-layer fabric combines the feel of a lightweight fabric with an exceptional barrier against hazardous liquid chemicals.
• The fabric has been tested for permeability to more than 100 chemicals according to EN 374-3.
• Design features such as high quality elasticated hems around the ankles and wrists, external cuffs and a unique double flap zip ensures that the garment provides excellent protection.

Version

• Ansell The AlphaTec® 5000 uses a welded version of our optimum pattern suit, designed for maximum wearability, comfort, and durability. The design includes a hood with a unique x-seam, perfecting the fit to the head.
• Specially extended outer cuffs allow a secure seal between the chemical gloves and the wrist. The inner cuffs are made of comfortable knitted material.
• The front opening is characterised by a flap with a double zipper. A more traditional method of clamping the zipper flap is to use double-sided tape.However, this method is problematic because it relies on the user to ensure a good seal between the tape and their own clothing. In Microchem® 4000, the inner zipper closes the garment, while the outer zipper ensures that the zipper flap is properly positioned and sealed. This means that a secure seal can be achieved quickly and at any time.
• All seams are taped with special tape to provide even better protection from chemicals.
• Reinforcement of the material in the crotch area to eliminate the risk of possible tearing.
